For one thing, female style is at the forefront of my mind every time I look in my wardrobe, accessories drawer, make-up bag, or jewellery box. And also, women's fashion still seems far more pervasive in the media than male fashion. Press features, adverts, blogs, and newsletters certainly have far more of a focus on us girlies.
Anyway, my last 'Boyfriend Material' post was inspired by an email from my boy, and this one finds its way to you thanks to the excellent men's fashion blog Style Salvage. Check it out.
Like Style Salvage Steve, I live round the corner from Upper Street in Islington and its recently opened Albam store. After reading his post 'Albam in Angel', which prompted this edition of Boyfriend Material, I went to their website and chose some examples of their simple, wearable attire that I think would sharpen up any fella's smart/casual wardrobe.
"We continue to manufacture our products in Great Britain and if this isn’t possible then we look as close to home as possible, so we now have good friends in Portugal, USA, Italy. Our aim is to bring as much product back to Britain and we have spent the last year building a business … that is enabling our British factories to grow and develop with us.
"There is no hidden agenda with this, but there is something that is great about making products in an area when people think you are slightly crazy “because no one does it anymore”. In some respects there is an old mindset within Albam combined with a forward outlook."
